The Summer 2026 edition of the Darvel Bulletin showcases a thriving community, celebrating the events, people and organisations that continue to make Darvel a vibrant place to live and visit. Highlights include Darvélo, Valley Walkfest, The Corner markets and the 25th anniversary of the Darvel Music Company.

This issue looks back on a successful season of community events, including the popular Blast Off market and music event at The Corner, and another highly successful Valley Walkfest which attracted more than 450 participants across a wide range of outdoor activities.

Featured articles explore the life of conservation pioneer John Morton Boyd OBE, celebrate the achievements of award-winning photographer Hugh Maxwell, and mark 25 years of live music in Darvel through the Darvel Music Company’s contribution to the town’s cultural life.

The Bulletin also highlights preparations for the Irvine Valley’s 150 Years of Lace celebrations, updates from local organisations and sports groups, community news, and a calendar of upcoming events. Looking ahead, the town is already preparing for the 2028 centenary of Sir Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin.

Packed with local stories, heritage, achievements and future plans, the Summer 2026 Darvel Bulletin reflects the energy, pride and community spirit of Darvel and the Irvine Valley.
